A Danish company. Norr 11 create some of the most simple but powerful designs in furniture. Their concepts are sleek, strong and clean. Their name comes from November 11, 2011 when they first began.

The Mammoth Chair is one of my favorite designs of theirs. The almost Chester sofa inspired pattern of the seat pad. The hints of the Eames Chair's frame with the clean, curved oak plywood. It is such a timeless design. I love the colour and texture of the grey wool seat.
The elephant chair looks like it takes elements from the Butterfly Chair designed in 1938. The angle of the seat enables the user to sort of sink into the comfort and frame of the chair. The legs appear to resemble an almost mid century 70's style with the tapered legs. It is the beauty of the materials that they use creating a refined collection.
They have a range of minimalist lighting consisting of brass gold black and white. The aesthetic flows through furniture and lighting. Taking inspiration from various decades through the 20th century they bring together simple designs.

I have looked into a number of deigns, to start off there is a rocking lounge chair that is such an unusual shape, designed in collaboration with Verner Panton. It was designed in 1974 but in 2011 brought out an updated version consisting of an oak frame with either leather or wool seat padding. Norr11 designed the Shanghai Chair similar to the wishbone chair by Hans Wegner, it is more stripped back, it has arms curving round the frame. It doesn't have the frame under the seat like the wishbone does however, they both do have the wicker seating pad. It looks more prompt up than the wishbone. The Goose chair is another very classy chair, upholstered in muted velvets with brass legs as a dining chair or with a wide surface area, skewed plywood tapered legs and a leather seat and back.

The Norr11 company has a timeless aesthetic and will continue to, most likely becoming one of the 21st century's iconic company.
